This nice puzzle, made out of eighteen pieces, is originally based upon a normal Chinese Cross Puzzle. Around the center, the Chinese cross puzzle, four identical smaller burrs are placed. If the puzzle is completed a solid construction is made.

The puzzle is made out of twelve pieces with a length of 7 units (diameter of 2 units) and six pieces with a length of 10 units. It is fun to use a different type of wood for the smaller pieces than for the larger pieces. This puzzle is not difficult to made if you follow the instructions of the diagram below.

To solve this puzzle, first you have to construct the four smaller pieces, by using for each part three different pieces. Complete the puzzle by putting the four parts on the correct place and afterwards slide the six larger pieces in the puzzle one by one.
