The Kwibus is in fact a preliminary study of the
Betulgeuze Puzzle. The Betulgeuze is based upon the
Orion Puzzle.
In the latter only connections between two pieces exist. The Betulgeuze has also
connections or cross points with three pieces. To evaluate the possibility of a
connection between three pieces, the Kwibus has been designed.
The puzzle is constructed with twelve pieces with two notches.
The pieces are divided into four groups of three pieces. Three different pieces
form a three pointed star. Four stars can be linked together to form the puzzle
as shown in the image above.
The diagram below shows the three different pieces. Every piece
has to be duplicated four times. To determine the precise dimensions of the
pieces you can use the design graph of the
Orion puzzle. The diagram of the Betulgeuze puzzle
can also be useful. The angle of the left notch (in the figure below) is 60
degrees, the right notch has an angle of 70,5 degrees.
