Design by Peter Query

This puzzle is based upon the same principle as the Cube Cage, Orion and Cassiopeia. These three puzzles are derived from the cube, the rhombic dodecahedron and rhombic triacontahedron. The Procyon puzzle is based upon the truncuated octahedron which is made by six squares and eight hexagons.

The puzzle is made with 36 pieces. Twelve pieces form six 'squares', for each square two pieces. Three pieces make one 'hexagon', so you need 24 pieces to make eight hexagons. If you have some experience in making the Orion puzzle, it won't be difficult to make and solve this puzzle.

When you construct this puzzle you have to make eight hexagons and six squares first. After that, you can link the parts together to complete the puzzle. Use the picture above to see how the puzzle should look like.
